When the Church of England launched their Net Zero Carbon 2030 initiative, they needed a way to communicate it clearly and compellingly to an enormous and diverse audience spanning clergy, schools, and staff right across the country. The challenge was to take a subject that can feel complex or abstract and make it feel accessible, relevant, and motivating for people at every level of the organisation.
Little Blue Hut was brought in by the Church's communications team to create a series of original animations to accompany the rollout of a new digital guide packed with practical tips to help churches on their journey toward net zero carbon. Every frame of those animations, along with the artwork featured throughout the guide itself, was created entirely in house.
The brief called for content that could cut through to a wide audience without oversimplifying the message. The animations needed to feel warm and purposeful, reflecting both the urgency of the environmental mission and the values of the organisation behind it.
It was a fantastic collaboration and one that sits at the intersection of animation, illustration, and genuine social purpose.
